Parents' Association of the CDC

The Parents' Association is an essential component of the Center and strengthens the CDC community. It offers parents a unique opportunity to meet other parents and to become involved in their child's educational experience. All parents are encouraged to join and are welcomed to participate to whatever extent they choose. The Director meets monthly with the PA. Interested parents make arrangements for special family events and enrichment programs, organize fund raising events, support the teachers and curriculum through various volunteer activities and act as a sounding board for the Director regarding Center issues. The PA is directly responsible for the acquisition of the Centers new play area and for all monthly enrichment activities that the children enjoy. There are many ways for parents to become involved in the Center. We offer many committee positions, including Room Parents, Philanthropy, Fund Raising, Enrichment, and Hot Lunch, to name a few. There are also many informal, one-time opportunities to participate in as well as the ongoing committees to serve on through out the year.

The fundraising by the Parent's Association does pay off. Below is a picture of the five digital cameras we were able to get for the classrooms. Please note, the fifth camera was used to take the picture of the four shown!
